The Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Elections (CECOE) is a non-profit, non-governmental civil society organization. In anticipation of the 7th General Election, CECOE intends to deploy 5,000 Short-Term Observers (STOs) throughout the nation. To facilitate the collection, cleaning, and analysis of data obtained by the STOs, CECOE will set up an Election Situation Room that will operate from May 26 to June 4, 2026.
Requirements
- Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, political science, information technology, statistics, or social sciences).
- Basic proficiency in data management tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software.
- Familiarity with data cleaning techniques is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to work effectively in a team under supervision.
- Proficiency in one of the following languages: Amharic, Afaan Oromo, Somali, or Afar.
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify observation reports from Short-Term Observers.
- Contact observers, using designated communication channels, to follow up on reported critical incidents.
- Input, validate, and clean observation data within the established system.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform any other duties assigned by CECOE within the scope of the assignment.
Benefits
- Gross daily remuneration equivalent to EUR 34, payable in Ethiopian Birr at the applicable exchange rate, for Six (6) approved working days only.
- Practical training to ensure Data Clerks are fully prepared for their responsibilities.
